Tuesday 18 February…nice and warm in a university swimming pool this morning, then…..the fire alarm went off and we all evacuated into the rain and wind outside for 15 mins..yikes. Meanwhile at our pool, well done to Georgina and Pater on completion of their PADI Open water course skills today.
Saturday 15 February…A few moments (literally) of sunshine on an otherwise tempestuous day at Stoney Cove today (photo). Extremely well done to Joanna, Lauren and Matt on their PADI Drysuit speciality, it was a real pleasure to dive, given their proficiency in the water, and tenacity in cold conditions. Thanks again to Mike for his help as Divemaster today.
Friday 14 February…Valentines day, you certainly wouldn’t earn bonus points taking your sweetheart diving today…it was grimmo ! We were the only ones diving this afternoon at Stoney Cove, so come on down, we look like bemused ducks on photo. Not one fish on 2 dives, well done Andy on his Deep dives. Purchased a new GoPro after flooding our original in Red Sea the other week, so looking to table some more videos.
Thurs 13 February…PADI EFR course today warm n dry for dentist surgery staff, quite a change from diving in this weather. However we are back into the water tomorrow. We’ve had a number of emails re the PADI Freediving Speciality we are offering, we will have details on website at weekend, we will start late in March and there’s an option of a warm water destination in April, we are in the Red Sea in April so may include on that trip.
Weds 12 February…late back tonight from the youngster dive group, and unpacked van in tempest conditions. A remarkable day of weathers but nice and serene underwater and nice and warm in the pool. We have also added the PADI Freediving qualification, we will be starting courses after Easter as the weather warms, and we have 2 sites abroad for after training jollys.
Tuesday 11 February…Stoney cove this morning
brilliant sunshine and very few there, you need to break that kit out and come on down. We have a couple of new Specialities to add now, firstly PADI Self reliant diver, and PADI Sidemount speciality, more details to follow. Nice to see Brad and Karan this evening.
Sunday 9 February…A morning in the workshop catching up on servicing jobs and making mischief. By the way we have another PADI Equipment Specialist course in the next 2 weeks for those interested in how their equipment works, how to maintain it etc. well done to Nishad and James in completing their PADI Open water skills in the pool this afternoon n thanks to DM Mike
Saturday 8 February…We had 3 seasons packed into one afternoon today, not to mention the wavelets on the water, almost like being at sea. The twinsets were well and truly launched today at Stoney cove. Well done to Greg and Steve on their Tech diving acquaint over the last 2 days and a great display of Navigation. Anyone interested in the PADI Archaeology Diver Speciality course in early March, were one of only 3 centres in the UK able to offer it, details on website.
Friday 7 February…A super day, sun shine, a shame we were in the pool, we seem to save the tempests for open water dives. Completed the first of 2 Tech diving Intro sessions today in pool and classroom. Well done to Greg and Steve today, now ready to don the twinsets and multiple rigs in Oen water. We have a couple of new announcements coming up next week so stay tuned.
